This phase of the redevelopment of the Royal inland Hospital Site involved construction of a new 44-bed tertiary mental health facility.
The total floor area is approximately 50,000 S.F. and includes 10 Intensive Care beds, 10 Secure beds, 12 Assessment and Treatment beds, and 12 Behaviour / Stabilization beds.
Other support facilities include an Administration area, Dining / Lounge areas, Interview / Examination rooms, Conference areas, Patient and Family Support facilities, Food Services and Staff Facilities. The two-storey structure also includes underground parking for 88 cars.
Designed to achieve LEED Standards, this building obtained LEED Gold Certification in December 2006.
