G.E. Bonner Middle School
Mill Bay, B.C.
This project was for a large addition to an existing school that had been originally built in 1974. It included major renovations to the existing structure to help unify the project. The addition includes a new library and multi-purpose room complete with programmable stage. It includes two floors of classrooms around a two-storey atrium which is used for natural ventilation. The school embodies many of the principles of passive design including natural displacement ventilation through the atrium, as well as, sun control canopies on classroom windows, and other energy-saving systems. Ductwork is minimized and operating costs reduced.

The project was completed in 2007 at a cost of $12,000,000.00 and now has the appearance of a totally new school.
